Flaming Gorge Fishing
Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is a remarkable treasure of fishing resources. The 91-mile long Flaming Gorge Reservoir is renowned for its world-class trophy fishing, and many Utah and Wyoming state record fish have come from its scenic waters. From the gates of Flaming Gorge Dam, the Green River re-emerges as one of the finest tailwater fisheries in the world. Surveys have recorded up to 20,000 trout per mile in its upper sections! Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat trout and Cutt-bow hybrids are abundant and average 15-inches and better. Fishing is allowed year-round, 24 hours a day on both the reservoir and the river. There are excellent fishing guide services available, and we recommend them as the best way to enjoy these very special fisheries.
